For this assignment, you must select ONE of the topics you discussed in your research topic video. This will be the topic you will use for your research project. The research proposal provides information on your intended research paper. This includes information on your research question, thesis statement and the issue you will investigate. The proposal will also discuss your research paper’s structure and your intended audience. You must also address the potential problems you might face during the semester while writing your research paper. Guidelines: The proposal must be uploaded to the discussion board. The proposal must be in proper MLA format. The proposal should include a title that relates to your topic. The proposal must have 3 paragraphs that follow the structure provided below. Do not include more than 3 paragraphs. The proposal should be a minimum of 400 wordsFormat of Proposal: The guidelines below break the paper down into an outline. However, your paper will NOT be an outline. The paper MUST BE in proper essay format. Title Paragraph One: Introduction of Topic Explain your selected topic. Give a bit of background and the rational for choosing this topic. Paragraph Two: Planned Content Topic: What stance do you intend to take? Potential Content: What do you plan to discuss the in the paper? What are you attempting to prove? (Remember- the research paper must be argumentative.) 3. Address Possible Structure General to Specific? Will your research paper begin with a general overview of the topic and move to specific points? Or, will you maintain a specific point from the very beginning and argue it throughout the paper? Point – by – point 4. Will you include opposition? Explain. Paragraph Three: Audience and Potential Issues Identify the audience of your paper. Discuss why you are selecting the audience. Make sure that your audience is not too broad. Address potential problems in writing your research paper. The problems can include anything that concerns you about writing the research paper. They might include the following: Not enough sources Not enough valid sources Sensitive/Difficult Audience Concern over formatting on MLA structure Concern over writing style Concern over meeting the length requirement
