PGBM162 Introduction:
This module is assessed by two separate assignments:
Assessment 1 – a report-based coursework
Assessment 2 – Infographic and Group Presentation.

S2 How to apply Operations, Logistics and Supply Chain frameworks and techniques introduced to provide solutions that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of working business systems.
S3 Analytical and critical thinking skills to evaluate problems and make decisions.
Details of the assessments are as follows:
Assessment 1 (70% of the marks of this module) – Individual assignment weighting. Submission due after week 10. With a word guideline of 2000 words (plus or minus 10%) to meet learning outcomes K1, K2, K3, S1, S2 and S3.
You are required to submit the coursework through Turnitin. Only assessments submitted through Turnitin will be marked. Any other submission including submission to your study centre in hard copy will be treated as a non-submission.
Requirements: The assessment and all questions are compulsory for all students with a marking allocation of 70% awarded for this element.
Assessment 1 Questions:
All three questions are compulsory.
Question a. (40% marks) Using information from relevant literature and considering a footwear company of your choice, critically discuss ways in which logistics and supply chain management could contribute to market competitiveness both in terms of efficiency and effectiveness on a global basis.
Question b. (30% marks) Using information from relevant literature critically evaluate the meaning of ‘sustainable distribution practices’ in the footwear industry on a global basis.
Question c. (30% marks) Based on your analysis so far in question a & b, recommend a supply chain strategy to your chosen footwear company.

Assessment 2 (30% of the marks of this module)– Submission and presentation in week 8
Group Infographic/Slides and Presentation to meet learning outcomes K1, K2 and S1
As part of this assessment, you are to work in groups of max. 5 people and prepare and present a one-page infographic (A1 format) or slides (Max 8) that include:
-Using information from relevant literature, present a critical evaluation of current global logistics and supply chain issues faced by a footwear company of your choice drawing on the information found out from research and other relevant literature. [50% marks]
-Present current megatrends that might be important for the footwear company highlighting their impact. [40% marks]
Creativity, Presentation and references [10% marks]

Your mark and feedback will be made available to you electronically on Canvas once the internal moderaon process has taken place, you should note that at this stage marks are sll subject to external examiner and academic board approval.

Grading
You will be marked in accordance with the University of Sunderland assessment criteria attached below. The assessment criteria cover; Relevance, Knowledge, Analysis, Argument and Structure, Critical Evaluation, Presentation, Reference to Literature.
