HAT Topic Scenario: For my Fieldwork Applied Learning HAT Project, I will examine how new recruiters transition from formal training environments into active recruiting stations within the United States Army Recruiting Division. My project will assess the effectiveness of the onboarding process, focusing on mentorship, hands-on learning, and access to support resources. In addition to analyzing recruiter readiness based on initial performance benchmarks, I will explore how mental health services and family support systems contribute to a smoother transition and long-term success. The final product will include a scorecard evaluating training-to-field integration, wellness and family support accessibility, and a summary offering recommendations to strengthen early-stage development and mission
alignment.
Notes: . You will only need 5-7 slides. Introduction/Background slide, Goals/Objective, What you
did/how you did it, Results, Conclusion/Recommendations.

create a pretend name such as “Company X”
2.How long should our HAT Paper/project/product be?
This is a challenging question to answer definitively, as each HAT project is unique. One person
is doing an entire HR policy and procedures manual –so the manual is the project/product (60
plus pages!), and the overview paper is 2-4 pages.
Another person took their existing LEAD605 Needs Assessment project (BE SURE TO CITE IT
FROM Previous work) and took it to the NEXT STEPS and went out and gathered the data,
analyzed it and presented it to management — their document is 10-12 pages and includes
appendices with the Survey items, graphs/charts etc.
Another person is creating an Instructional Design video Training module so their product is the
video/script/etc and then a paper 2-4 pages describing what they did, why they did it, needs
assessment, goals of the training etc.
