Family violence takes on many forms. As a result, there are a number of misconceptions regarding the nature and extent of the problem. A multi-faceted approach between the criminal justice community and social service resources is necessary to address the victimization and trauma associated with the violence. Learning Objectives Identify the different forms of family violence. Explain the nature and scope of the problem. Discuss the factors that contribute to family violence and their consequences.
