Overview

This course provides an overview of the aspects of stress and trauma, including examination of seminal texts and concepts.  This assignment will establish a foundation to support course focus on understanding of trauma counseling, theories, and interventions that intersect with a number of traumatic events, how science informs the delivery of effective counseling theory and technique for these clients with the goal of integrating ethical, effective, and biblically grounded care.  This assignment will also ground the learner in components of quality doctoral level writing as needed in preparation for the successful completion of the dissertation requirement.  These key components are to demonstrate analysis of what you studied from multiple resources on a topic, what new insight you gained from that study, and how you can synthesize that into practice. This assignment consists of three parts, the Analysis in the Study of Trauma: Part One Assignment, a Discussion Forum with fellow learners on the analysis, and the Analysis in the Study of Trauma: Part Two Assignment.

Instructions

Review the document with the Canvas instructions on Comparing and Contrasting.  Use your three course textbooks as reference and develop at least a one to two page paper (300 to 400 words) on the topic of Analysis in the Study of Trauma.  You must focus your paper on an aspect of trauma that you have interest in such as a specific aspect of the experience of trauma, a specific treatment of trauma, risk factors or protective factors in trauma impact  – the choice of focus is yours as long as you base it on synthesized learning from at least two of your three course textbooks and at least two peer-reviewed scholarly articles published within the last five years.

The submission must include the following:

·       Professional APA style Title Page

·       Professional APA style formatting to include appropriate APA headings for sections.

·       Introduction section

·       Two sections of content discussion with each section providing synthesis of insight from reference and citation of at least two of your textbook or article resources in each section.  All references used must be cited in one of the two sections.

o   Comparison of Trauma Resources – In this section discuss how at least two of your references SHARE SIMILAR INSIGHT on your topic for this paper.

o   Contrast of Trauma Resources – In this section discuss how at least two of your references HAVE DIFFERENCES WITH INSIGHT on your topic for this paper.

·       Section on Biblical Integration to show comparison or differences with insight from scripture about your focus topic.

·       Conclusion section

·       References page.
