A rapidly expanding medium sized organization is considering incorporating people analytics to inform their HR management. They operate in materials technology sector and develop metals for use in the aerospace, defence and automotive sectors, as well as for electronic and medical devices. They have around 100 employees, mostly engineers (computational, experimental, materials, mechanical and software) and process optimisation consultants. They offer customised solutions for their clients’ most demanding metal component challenges.

They asked you to present a business case for engaging in HR analytics. Employ evidence – based approach to critically discuss the notion that HR analytics is beneficial to organisations.
 
Word count: maximum 2000 words + executive summary & reference list 

Suggested structure:

  • Executive summary –  summarise the business case including your recommendation
  • Introduction –  introduce the business case: state HR analytics as the opportunity under consideration & why addressing it is important to the organization; outline the method: EBM principles & evidence weighting; map out the paper
