For the final HR Solution project, you will:
- Select a news article written within the last 6 months to one year, discussing a health care organization that is facing an organizational challenge. You may use your current employer with instructor approval.
- Identify one organizational challenge from the following:
- worker shortage
- financial challenges
- workers Striking
- lacking diversity, equity and inclusion policies
- changes in top leadership such as the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Nursing Officer, etc.
- service line closures
- reduction in services
- internationally educated nursing shortage – visa shortages/denials
- less than optimal Workplace Engagement Survey Results (If you select an article where workplace engagement survey results are not ideal, be sure in your presentation to discuss HR’s role in supporting mental health at work)
- other – must be approved by the course instructor
In the presentation, you will present to the Chief Executive Officer the following:
- Discuss the organizational challenge identified in your article or selected organization.
- Illustrate a minimum of three HRM concepts that you have learned in this course that are highlighted in your selected articles.
- Develop HR strategies, policies, practices, and processes you believe are needed to help resolve the organizational challenge.
- Identify any laws violated by the organization as a result of the organizational challenge.
- Examine whether a global staffing plan can be leveraged to address the challenge and, if applicable, include global staffing plan recommendations.
- Compile examples of how the organization can use the internet and government tools to support the HR effort.
- Analyze the proposed solution provided in the article stating whether the proposed solution will mitigate or eliminate the organizational challenge.
